What is ACT and what can it do for you?
The Association of Community Theatre is the umbrella organisation covering all groups who perform theatre shows.
Ulverston Amateur Operatic Society has been a member of ACT since its founding.
It is a specialist organisation offering a range of services:

Adjudication and SHwo Reports
Child Protection Advice
Theatre Supplier Discounts to members
Workshops in all aspects of acting, music, singing, dance, technical, backstage
and many more...
There are other organisations representing Amateur Theatre, some have grown away from the grass root support of their members.
ACT UK has been set up to offer societies what they want and need. They are there to ffer help and advice where necessary.
It is a mutual aid grouping of like midned societies, run by its members for its members.
